Early life experiences leave imprints
on how we connect to others in relationships.
These are considered to be attachment styles,
this week we look over three styles, from the book, “Wired for Love” by Stan Tatkin.
Each style has strengths and weaknesses.
The three styles are
Islands, Waves, and Anchors.
Islands:
Low maintenance
Independent
Exceptional self-care
Creative and productive
Especially when given space.
Waves:
Likes to be surrounded by people
Focused on caring for others
Generous and giving
Anchors:
Secure individuals
Willing to commit
Share with one another
Can adapt to the needs of the moment
