Guest host, Tara Eldana talks shop, romance writing and heat levels with author Nikki Lamers. They dive into Nikki’s books, Dreams Lost and Founds and Finding Home.
Dreams Lost and Found and Finding Home tells the story of Samantha, who loses her adoptive parents and searches for answers she hopes will help her define who she really is. She moves to a new place, meets and falls hard for Brady, and he falls for her, but he has his own journey and answers to find.
Samantha discovers a series of letters her birth mother wrote to her throughout her life, which are interspersed throughout the stories, which are steamy, but not quite erotic.
With regard to the love scenes, Lamers said, “I let the characters tell the story.”
Lamers, also adopted, used her search for her birth mother to accurately and poignantly depict Samantha’s journey. Lamers, with full support of her adoptive parents, wanted answers about her family history and their mental, physical and emotional health.
“I like to be real,” Lamers said. That said, “the story is nothing like my own,” she added.
She has also written the five-book Unforgettable series, available on Amazon.
Her fans on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest tell Lamers “they love the characters, they love the stories. They want more.”
Lamers has worked in the healthcare industry, as a journalist and wrote educational materials. “I always loved the creative process of writing the best,” she said.
She currently works as script supervisor with Gemelli Films and writer/director Candice Cain on a series and feature film. Welcome to Hope, a 10-episode series, is scheduled to air on Pure Flix, a studio that produces Christian films, in August. The film, A Holiday Homecoming, is scheduled to be released in December and air on Pure Flix.
